GBF Energy Conference in October 2009

Thoughts and interactions at pre-conference reception

The 14th GBF annual conference, held in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Atrium Restaurant, Westminster, discussed the challenges of climate change at a national, regional and municipal level.

Governments, industry and academic communities have to work very closely together, including creating partnerships in energy innovation and implementation across different industrial and academic sectors, to seek solutions to the challenges for climate change. The main emphasis has to be on practical solutions as a way of generating a “green revolution.” There is an acute need for better financing to make climate change measures accessible to ordinary people areas like home insulation and renewable energy, which can make a big difference to carbon emissions. These were among the conclusions of the one-day conference in London.
