In spite of the world recession, the international community is making real progress in driving forward innovative and practical measures to combat climate change – but much more needs to be done. |

The conference, held in association with the German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany, the German Embassy London and Ernst & Young, took place in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Atrium Restaurant, Westminster, was addressed by 25 speakers from different fields of politics, business and finance, and was attended by 200 delegates. The conference also commemorated the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with the award of the British-German Commemoration of Achievement to Prof. Horst Teltschik, former foreign policy adviser to Chancellor Helmut Kohl and one of the driving forces behind German reunification. |
