
A Board Member and former
Chairman of German-British Forum, David Marsh was educated at Queen’s College,
Oxford and began his career as an Economics and business journalist with Reuters
in London, Frankfurt, Brussels and Bonn. Since then David has worked for the
Financial Times, Robert Fleming & Co, Hawpoint Partners, Droege & Comp.
At present David is Chairman of London and Oxford Capital Markets plc,
Director of David Marsh & Co and member of the European Advisory Board, Proudfoot Consulting
Group.
In 2000 He was awarded a CBE for services to Anglo-German relations and in 2003 received the Order of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz) from the German Federal President. He has held an honorary professorship at University of Birmingham (1998) and honorary fellowship at South Bank University.
David is the author of three books: Germany – Rich, Bothered and Divided (Century Hutchinson 1989); The Bundesbank – The Bank that Rules Europe (Heinemann 1992); Germany and Europe - The Crisis of Unity (Heinemann 1994).
