Herbert Quelle
Herbert Quelle is Head of the Economics Affair Department in London and has been since August of this year. Quelle speaks fluent English, French and Spanish, fair Portuguese and Italian, and can speak Polish passively. He was born on the 27th December 1953 in Herford, Northrhine Westphalia, Germany. He did his Abitur in 1973, and then spent a year doing military service. In 1975 he was Assistant Professor and Student at Hampden-Sydney College, Virginia in America. He then did the 1st State Exam in English and Political Sciences at Göttingen University. In Los Angeles he was Consul for Press and Public Information until 1985. He then worked at the Federal Foreign Office in Bonn for two years, moving on to become the first Secretary of Political and Press affairs for the German Embassy. For four years he was the Deputy Chief of Mission, still for the Embassy but this time in Cuba. He took on the role of Deputy Head of Division for Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Colombia and Venezuela, in 1995 and stayed at that position for 5 years. He then worked in Warsaw, Moscow as Head of Economic Affairs Department. For 3 years up until July 2006 he was then the Head of Division Conosur in Berlin at the Federal Foreign Office.
He has two daughters and enjoys music and cooking in his spare time.
