Dr. Paul Golby
Since 2002 Paul has been Chief Executive of E.ON UK, one of the UK’s leading energy companies, (formerly known as Powergen) which he joined in 1998. He is a Top Executive Committee member of E.ON UK’s parent group, E.ON AG., the world’s largest investor owned electricity and gas company.
After training as a mechanical engineer, he held a series of management appointments with Dunlop and BTR before becoming an executive director of Clayhithe plc in 1992.
He is co-chair of the Energy Research Partnership and a non executive director of AEA Technology plc.
He has a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and a Council member of the Energy Institute. He was awarded an honorary degree of DSc by Aston University in July 2007.
