He joined DZ BANK in 1988 and has held senior positions in Frankfurt, Dublin, New York, and Singapore. He has extensive banking experience including corporate finance, capital markets, risk management, business development as well as private banking.

He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is an alumnus of Pforzheim University.

He has been elected as a Councillor of the German-British Chamber of Industry & Commerce.
