A lawyer by training Alan took over the reins of a family consumer products business in 1979 and grew it over the years and sold it to the management in 2007.
During this period he acquired Silver Cross, the only remaining Pram Manufacturer left in the UK, from the Receiver.
This prolific brand was built up over the next 13-years, supplied some 40 international markets and was sold to the Chinese Conglomerate Fosun some 6 months ago after winning numerous business awards.
Alan is Joint Chairman of Business for Britain, is on the Board of Vote Leave and is also Chairman of Craven Education Trust, a multi academy Trust based in Skipton,Yorkshire. In 1975 as a young law student he voted against remaining in the EEC and also led the I Want a Referendum Campaign in the NW.
