PRESENTATION: Digital Disruption at BOSCH
The speech will explore how digitalisation is impacting the Bosch Group, which divisions of Bosch are already being impacted and how we see this potentially developing in the future. The speech will focus more on the disruption caused by changes to business models, rather than the huge potential we see coming from Industry 4.0 and the digitalisation of our internal manufacturing processes.
The desire from Consumers to purchase goods and services online has the potential to attract large data driven companies to increasingly look to the Consumer’s Home as the next market to explore and exploit, and therefore Bosch will increasingly come into competition with such Companies as we too see the potential that will come from the Smart Home Revolution.
Having studied Mechanical Engineering at University, Carl Arntzen originally joined Worcester Bosch in 1984 as a Product Development Engineer. Having worked in Product Development for several years, he then moved in to more commercial orientated roles, first in Product Management and then Marketing Management.
Following the acquisition by Bosch in 1992, Carl spent 2 years working in Germany on the Group European product strategy, before returning to Worcester as Service Director, to run the After-Sales organization.
In 2003 Carl joined BG Group to work on the mCHP Microgeneration Project, before returning to Worcester Bosch again in 2007 as Sales & Marketing Director. In October 2011, he was appointed to Managing Director and subsequently CEO, responsible for the whole Bosch Thermotechnology business in the UK & Ireland, for both the Worcester Bosch & Bosch brands.
