Manufacturing processes at BMW are always changing to respond to customers needs and achieve faster delivery. Production engineers must strive to make their mature systems more efficient, while researching new technologies to find greater efficiency in assembly – such as the use of collaborative robots and sensors to acquire factory KPIs.

The BMW Hams Hall representative will discuss the technological and HR changes that the engine plant is making to be capable of producing the next generation of engines, in-full on-time, every time. New labour saving technology is making some tasks more automated and even redundant while creating new jobs to support these new manufacturing systems.

Simultaneously BMW has established and must maintain environmental and social sustainability throughout the value chain, product responsibility and a clear commitment to conserving resources.
