Jan Lorenz, managing director of Jungheinrich UK Ltd, has over 10 years experience in the Jungheinrich Group.

For the last six and a half years he headed up the Group’s marketing and sales steering operation before being announced Managing Director in 2013. Before this he worked for Jungheinrich in the United States, where he successfully developed a dealer network on the US East Coast and in eastern Canada and later became the Director of Direct Sales.

Jan Lorenz has a special interest in Training and Education with a special focus on apprenticeships. Jan Lorenz himself has fully followed his own ‘apprenticeship scheme’: After school he attended a military academy, which was followed by a business apprenticeship where he also functioned as representative of his apprenticeship year. He then attended university which he completed with a postgraduate programme.
Within Jungheinrich, Jan Lorenz has also always given special attention to the training of younger generations. From 2007 to 2009 he was the Head of the Jungheinrich Group training centre. Jan Lorenz is also the main sponsor of the BITA (British Industrial Truck Association) Academy, which is a centre of excellence for apprenticeship development. In the past year alone Jungheinrich UK have taken on over 40 apprentices. In 2014 Jungheinrich UK successfully gained investors in people accreditation for the second time in succession.
Jungheinrich UK co-operates closely with a number of UK colleges to develop future ‘Centres of Excellence ’both in Logistics and Engineering
