Lady Caroline Dalmeny, Opinion Leaders Forum, The Ministry of Defence

Caroline Dalmeny’s career has taken her from Saatchi and Saatchi and Conservative Central Office to the House of Commons as a political assistant for Michael Portillo when he was Secretary of State for Defence and for Lord Strathclyde, then Leader of the Opposition in the House of Lords. Latterly she was Associate Director of the Henry Jackson Society. Currently she sits on the Opinion Leaders forum at the Ministry of Defence.

Caroline is expert in defence and international relations, is interested in nuclear policy and is knowledgable on East Africa and on US-UK relationships defence diplomacy.

She is an Associate Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute, a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and a Senior Associate at the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM). At the RSM her interests include military medicine, epidemiology and medical care in conflict. She is a qualified emergency responder and has trained as a team medic.

This year she will making working visits to Washington DC, Uganda and the Eastern Mediterranean. Charitable interests include the Royal Caledonian Charities Trust of which she was chair for a number of years, and the War Memorials Trust of which she was a trustee. Caroline sits on the London Board of Remembering Srebrenica. She has just become a trustee at the Army Museums Ogilby Trust. Her memberships include the Pilgrims Society and the British American Partnership Executive Council (UK).
